I believe it will be a big hit of Summer 06.
The Devil Wears Prada tells a story about how did a girl get herself lost and slipped away from what she had believed…… It is based on the best-selling novel but it smells familiar. It’s a fashion version of The Wall Street. I have no problem with repeating stories. All the Hollywood movies are based on 2 or 3 same stories. The point is they need to be told in a smart way. Although sometime the rhythm was lost and not all the materials are well organized, but overall the director of this movie did a good job on making it a funny sweat popcorn fairy tale. Like what I’ve said on my previous post, it reminds me Steve Carrel’s The 40-year-old Virgin.

Ann Hathaway plays a personal assistant to a chef editor of a Fashion magazine (Meryl Streep), a live legend of fashion. Not like in the Brokeback Mountain, Ann Hathaway can easily handle her role in this Princess Diary-like movie and don’t need the meaningless topless. Meryl Streep created a very impressive "godmother of the style" without putting too many efforts. It’s an interesting role to her, and is easy as well. To see a great Meryl Steep performance, go to A Prairie Home Companion, not this one. Lady-girl partner stories are not Hollywood’s favorite type, but this one works well.

But what makes this movie special is not the old fashion story. It is the fashion that gonna suck hundreds of millions on the box office.
I don’t know how many Hollywood movies are fashion-related besides Ready to Wear, (Zoolander doesn’t count) but they sure should have done more. The reason why 007 movies are so popular is James Bond has everything a man could dream of: bikini girls, money, race cars…. A well cooked fashion movie like the Devil Wears Prada could be as popular as 007, because the girl in the movie has everything a woman could dream of: shoes.
Ann Hathaway got chances to wear tons of shining shoes, glamour shirts and other fashion accessories and meet top fashion designers like Valentino Garavani in the movie. If you can not understand what all this means to a girl, let me put it this way: it’s like playing (not watching) in the World Cup final with Ronaldo as your teammate.

One word can sum up: irresistible.
To the girls, and gays.

I believe I can fly

平时看电影情绪都比较放松。今天进场的时候却难得有点儿兴奋。Superman在中国的影迷心中的地位，如同Star Wars之于美国影迷。十几年前第一次看到这样的电影，下巴差点没掉喽。久违了，Superman!

片头的字幕保留了原来的风格，只是星际穿梭的动画做的更炫目了。很亲切。
可是全片看下来，有些失望。

本来是个续集，拍出来却像一个remake。这种动画改的电影，超级英雄每次出场都应该比前一集更高更快更强。但这次超人却没显什么新功夫，坏蛋也十分的没有想象力，正邪斗法的桥段似曾相识，连救死扶伤的套路都跟以前差不多。

最大的问题是没有把重点放在超人的绝世武功上。虽说身为undocument immigrants，但在百晓生的兵器谱上，超人排名比蜘蛛侠，X-MEN，BATMAN都高，应该是满有搞头地。可导演却花了好大精力和篇幅在一些感情戏上，连最后决战也是草草带过，恨不过瘾。即使文戏也没有太出彩的地方，带着Louise九天揽月远没有spiderman雨中倒吻来的酷。而且一开场人物关系介绍不算很清楚，如果不熟悉前面四集，可能会有点摸不着头脑。

总之对于习惯了XMEN 蜘蛛侠的年轻观众来说，超人有点老土。昨天还担心超人斗不过海盗，看完电影就更没信心了。如果超人票房不如预期，导演BryanSinger大概会后悔自己推掉XMEN3。当初XMEN的影迷还很是吃了一些老醋呢。

如果买票来怀旧的，应该还算满意。与那些可以不断换人的戴面具的super heros相比，Christopher Reeve对超人的演绎深入人心。（片尾字幕有一段是向过世的Reeve两口子致意）。导演应该也是对着Christopher Reeve的照片选的Brandon Routh，可惜还是木了点。倒是Kevin Spacey演的Lex比起当年的Gene Hackman毫不逊色，更多了一份阴险诡诈。这是Kevin Spacey的强项，不奇怪。

再就是见到超人家族的一些新老成员，还是满亲切地。

小道消息：超人刚回家就收到MWP(Milky Way Patrol)的罚单，因向太空乱丢垃圾被罚社区服务1000小时。

对了，看到spiderman3的第一版trailer，黑蜘蛛酷地很！明年五四见。

谁能告诉我？---几个关于票房的问题

谁是老大？
一般来说，年度票房的冠军基本都产生在暑期。老杜前一阵子曾讲过，今年票房三甲应该是海盗，超人，达凡奇。虽然现在看X-MEN要比达凡奇赚得多，不过海盗和超人两部电影俺应该不会看走眼。两者都有大破票房纪录的实力。问题是，哪一个会是总冠军呢？
按说超人卧薪尝胆20来年，此番重返银幕，应该一路摧枯拉朽，所向披靡。好多平时不看电影的中老年观众也会来捧场。可问题也出在这儿，离开时间太长了。儿童相见不相识。Teenagers都跟他没感情，会有一些不买账。
相反海盗却老少咸宜，妇孺皆知。老杜闲着没事问周围的人，说superman有摇头的，说海盗没有说不去的。另外还有一个优势，就是比起超人来，更适合全家观看。所以这样一来，海盗略占一些优势。
但海外票房超人胜算大一些，毕竟知名度要更高。另外WB选在星期三公映（这里今晚就演了），希望积累些口碑，到了周末来个井喷，5天加上7月4号独立日，搞不好就破了spiderman weekend box office的纪录。
到底谁厉害，俺真是整不明白。反正这周末俺首选不是超人，俺要去看The Devil Wears Prada

谁是喜剧之王？
提起05年的喜剧，我们都会想起两个片片：the Wedding Crashers 和40-year-old virgin。
The Wedding Crashers一共赚了2个多亿，票房成绩骄人。转过年来，今年so far喜剧电影还没谁显示出这样的实力。原来老杜对Nacho Libre寄予厚望，结果反响平平，票房差强人意。The School of Rock+ Napoleon Dynamite---〉1+1<1. 上周开画的click势头虽猛，可是马上超人加海盗，一浪又一浪，什么样的身子骨也顶不住啊。
还有两个喜剧满期待的，the Devil Wears Prada和My Super Ex-girlfriend。但Devil Wears Prada感觉更像40-year-old virgin，叫好又叫座，但不会是big blockbuster. My Super Ex-girlfriend倒有可能爆冷，但也可能票房惨淡。往年像Wilson兄弟，Will Ferrell， Vince Vaughn一众喜剧明星等都是合伙出来劫掠，今年却各自占山为王，但目前看成绩都很一般，如果super ex 成绩好，luck有可能是年终奖金最多的。

会不会有黑马？
黑马如同飓风登陆，不见得年年都有。不过一旦出了一个，绝对让你印象深刻。
上面讲过一个The Devil Wears Prada，俺认为名字起的极好，光听这个名字就让人忍不住想掏钱。今年还有一个名字起得好的，叫Snakes on a Plane。据说在网上已经火得不得了，很容易让人想起已经成为传奇的The Blair Witch Project。如果这个蛇电影到年底一查钱过了一个亿，千万别奇怪。

WTC会成为blockbuster嘛
United 93没有。
但WTC不一样。首先找不出更合适的人导WTC了。我觉得Stone配WTC, 甚至比Ron Harward配The DavinciCode更合适。其次Cage毕竟是大牌，看tailer里他的表现，年终拿个奥斯卡提名应该没问题。
最关键的是，比起United93 来，WTC更具象征意义。这种电影要是火起来，就像F911和the passion of JC, 全民动员，超人海盗加起来都不是个儿。
问题是：美国人民准备好了吗？

Am I just homesick?

I was sitting in the dark watching “The Lake House”. All of a sudden, I realized how much I love the winter.
I smelt the cold wind, I felt the snow cracking under the boot, and the last leaf from the fall just fallen down, the sun is fading white and I love my sweater. Am I just homesick?

The “sunshine state” still hasn’t convinced me yet. It’s nothing about the hurricanes. The movie just helped me found out I can’t live a life in a place without snow, and I believe a Starbuck coffee must be much happier being hold in a hand with wool glove.

The movie is good. A love story like that should be told exactly that way: you enjoy it but you wouldn’t mix it up with any part of the real life. No tear.
Sandra is good and reminds me her potential talent even she did miss the chance of showing them in the Crash while competing which some great performers.
Keanu? I am afraid he has to stick in his role of a “Star” in stead of a “performer”. It’s not that bad though.

After finished the movie I walked by a poster of it and found something interesting about the color the designer used on the two main characters, which I didn’t realized before. I’ll put the poster on my Photo page.

It is a shame that I can’t link my words I wrote here to the other pages of laodu.net. I think finally I am gonna write my own fully functioned blog site, if I have time.

laodu.net 的前世今生

两周前看了一个电影，Proposition。电影极好，就写了一篇小小的观后感想往laodu.bokee.com上贴。没成。被告知“可能存在敏感内容，需审查后才能张贴”。电影很暴力，看后体内肾上腺素水平有点偏高。一时间火冒三丈，决定“不跟你玩了”，还很不冷静的说了脏话。
后来发现发贴未遂是个技术事故，估计是Blogchina响应中央号召，为净化网络环境而增加什么过滤功能时，因学艺不精闪了一下腰。
要说在中国做网也不容易。谁也不想上赶子给自己戴紧箍咒，可上面看得紧，也是没法子的事。毕竟一大笔钱扔在那儿，得生存哪。（”everyone has a mortgage to pay”------Thank you for smoking）小张还能喜欢胡兰成呢，这些个俺们百姓都理解。
可是，这种事随大流就行了。要是太积极非要表现自己，就招人烦了。半推半就还可以说是生活所迫流落风尘；主动投怀送抱就只能说是水性杨花生性淫贱。加上长的又丑活儿又不好，就更让人看不起了。
另外冰冻三尺我对blogchina经常出错感到不耐烦已经很久了。这次是彻底伤心了（吧凉吧凉地啊--------赵本山）。加上一些博哥博姐也劝俺搬了算了。所谓听人劝，吃饱饭。搬！

决心下了，往哪搬呢？
国内的网站都存在审查问题，美国这边的像MSN留言还得注册。Google很好，可在中国又浏览不了。有点拿不定主意。
很巧，现在租的房子要到期了，不想继续住在现在这个小区，贵。找房子的时候想，以后等俺上班儿有钱了，不租apartment了，也买个house。
又想，虽然现在买不起房子，但在网上俺还是可以安个自己的家的。
我决定不再到处找blog host了。我要自己建个网。

上网google了一下，看了一些paper，掌握了一些最基本的常识，找了一个批发商，买了一个15G的空间。7块钱一个月。
有必要介绍一下老杜的电脑水平：装盗版软件行，crack就得别人帮忙了。
现在的电脑和网络产品的一个特点就是傻瓜也能做，所以我天真的以为交钱之后，上去setup一下，就像设置blog一样，选选颜色儿语言就行了呢。……根本不是那么一回事。
花了整整2天时间把最基本的一些设置搞了个大概齐之后（到现在也不知道SOL，PHP，SSH/SHELL等等等等是啥意思。），感觉很绝望。
开始上网找blogskin，web/blog templates，未果。
又2天过去了。

一个人的生活环境会变化很大，但不管到哪里，你身边都会有：电影专家（比如老杜），体育迷，K歌之王，小喇叭，酒鬼（比如老杜），烟民（比如老杜），和自学成材的电脑高手。在办公室距我身后3米远的地方有两个。有一个以前还靠做网站挣过零花钱。你说我有多幸运。
高手先给我扫了一下盲，然后给我把从国内带过来的盗版dreamweaverMX装上，在我掌握了最基本的操作之后，扔下一句话：这东西很容易上瘾的。
没错，做起来的确上瘾。茶不思饭不想。每天除了做实验，连开车的时候都琢磨怎么改码怎么排版，结果得到人生第一个warning，又吃了人生第一个罚单，同一天。

长话短说，效果大伙都看到了，都是很简单的网页。倒不是为了省时间。做之前上网也看了好多别人的设计，自己还是喜欢比较简单的。只有海报那页稍微复杂点，其实花的时间最短。
倒是为了节省时间省了好多效果。本来首页的两幅画想做flash来着，每页上的links也都想搞鼠标经过，实在没时间。
Dreamweaver其实还好，在PhotoShop上花的时间最多。第一次盖房子，倾向于自己挖泥烧砖，自己砍树吊梁。只有两幅丰大师和一幅“有约不来过夜半”加上赌神是网上copy下来的，也都处理过。当然英文字也是用的键盘，但绝大多数都是用PS作完了加效果的，很少直接在DW上type。毛笔字一般是一句写上好多篇，再把比较好字儿的凑在一起。最头痛是对色彩搭配得判断和喜好跟非洲国家队的球衣设计师一样，就好个新鲜，大红配大绿，明知不妥，但难以自拔。
所有功能性的像聊天室论坛都是用现成的template，blog想自己做，一个留言版就把我难住了。所以也是用现成的。还好经过一番磨练，会改码了。
法国世界杯的时候，老杜第一次接触internet，那时候IE和netscape还未决出胜负，sina还叫四通利方。一眨巴眼儿的功夫，又赶上世界杯了，可齐祖要退了，老杜也开始做网页了。

都弄完了，问自己：我不就要一个blog吗？ Homepage完全可以删掉不要；挂在blogchina时也是门前冷落，到这山沟里更是没人来了，所以聊天室也完全是摆设；论坛和blog留一个就行了。
其实我就需要一个blog。
算了，做都做了，就放那自己看着玩吧。

今天终于传到网上了。自己来来回回屋里屋外转了无数遍。déjà vu。两点同在国内装修房子时一样：1，那么多钱/时间都哪去了？看不出来呀？2，这是个endless mission，永远有无数的细节等你增删润色。
不过已经抗不住了，大伙将就看吧，俺要歇歇了。现在演啥电影呢？
